What size house number should I choose?

Accepted Answer

150mm is our most popular choice — legible from the street for the majority of Australian homes. Choose 100mm for side gates or letterbox panels, 200mm for wide facades or set-back houses, and 250mm when you want a bold architectural statement. If your house is more than 15m from the street, we recommend stepping up one size.

Which material lasts longest outdoors in Australia?

Accepted Answer

Brushed stainless steel (marine-grade 304) is the most durable — 20+ years outdoors with no maintenance, coastal-rated. Matte black aluminium lasts 10+ years with standard care. Brass and copper are both solid metals that develop a natural patina over time, which many owners prefer for heritage or period homes. All four materials are suitable for full exposure to Australian weather.

Question 3

Will brass and copper tarnish outdoors?

Accepted Answer

Yes — both materials develop a natural patina over time, which is part of their character. Polished brass darkens to a warm honey-bronze, and copper moves through brown tones toward a classic verdigris green over several years. If you want to slow this, we can apply a clear lacquer on request. For a permanently bright finish, choose brushed stainless steel instead.

Question 4

How are the numbers mounted to the wall?

Accepted Answer

Two options. Standoff mount kits (default) raise each number 15–20mm off the wall for a drop-shadow effect — threaded studs sit inside the number and thread into wall plugs. Hidden-fix kits sit the number flush with the wall using concealed studs. Both work on brick, render, timber, fibre-cement, and masonry. Each order includes a paper drilling template and stainless fixings.

Do you include a drilling template?

Accepted Answer

Yes — every order includes a printed A3 template showing exact drill positions for the standoffs or studs. Tape it to the wall, drill through the marks, peel off. The template is free if you add it at checkout; we recommend always including it for a straight installation.

Question 6

Can I have a letter suffix like 14A or 227B?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our input accepts 1–6 characters: numbers plus one optional trailing letter (e.g. 14A, 227B, 108/C). Each character is priced the same as a digit. Mixed house/unit numbers work too.

Are the numbers weather-rated for coastal areas?

Accepted Answer

Brushed stainless steel and matte black aluminium are both tested for coastal exposure. Polished brass and copper are solid metals with no coating to corrode — they age gracefully. All mounting hardware is marine-grade stainless. We ship to every coastal postcode in Australia.

How long does delivery take?

Accepted Answer

Production is 5–7 business days from order. Standard shipping is calculated at checkout and adds 2–5 business days depending on postcode. Next-day and same-day Sydney metro options are available at checkout (production is still 5–7 days — the upgrade is on the dispatch leg).

Question 9

Can I get a custom size or material not listed here?

Accepted Answer

Yes — anything outside the four preset sizes or four standard materials is a custom quote. Contact us with your brief and we'll come back with a price. Common requests: polished copper with clear lacquer, Corten weathering steel, oversized 400–600mm numbers for commercial buildings.

Question 10

Do you offer an install service?

Accepted Answer

Yes, in Sydney metro only. Standard install is $360 ex GST per visit (1 installer, includes call-out + 2 hours on-site). Most residential installs are finished inside that window. Contact us after purchase to schedule.
