Product details

Identify the actual AED location

Place the sign at, above or immediately beside the defibrillator it identifies. Suitable locations can include reception areas, first-aid rooms, sports facilities, community venues, schools and managed workplaces, provided the AED is actually present at that point. Update the signage if the equipment is relocated.

Choose the material and readable size

Polypropylene is the default rigid material for routine indoor and general site use. Vinyl suits a prepared smooth surface, Corflute suits temporary placement, and Colorbond steel provides a stronger mechanically fixed face. Choose 225 × 300 mm for close-range identification, 300 × 450 mm for a more prominent approach, or 450 × 600 mm for larger or visually busy areas.

Use separate directional signs where needed

The approved artwork has no arrow. Use it to mark the AED itself rather than to imply a left, right or straight-ahead route. If the equipment is not visible from an entry, lift lobby, corridor junction or other decision point, add directional signs whose arrows match the actual route.

A location sign is not the emergency system

The sign does not supply a defibrillator, certify its installation or confirm that it is accessible, inspected or ready for use. Keep the AED location, access arrangements, staff information, emergency plan and equipment maintenance aligned as separate operational responsibilities.

Check the sign format before ordering

This printed sign identifies an AED location. It does not include a defibrillator, certify the equipment installation or replace emergency planning, first-aid arrangements, staff information, inspection or maintenance. Confirm the site-specific equipment location and emergency arrangements before ordering.

  • Safe Work Australia – Emergency plans and proceduresWorkplaces need an emergency plan that covers effective response procedures, information, training and testing. A location sign is one communication aid within those broader arrangements. Read source (opens in a new tab)General workplace emergency-planning guidance; it does not certify this product or a particular AED installation.
  • Safe Work Australia – First aid in the workplaceFirst-aid arrangements depend on workplace hazards, size, location and the people at the workplace. Equipment, access and trained first aiders must be considered separately from signage. Read source (opens in a new tab)General first-aid guidance; check the applicable WHS regulator and site arrangements.

Before ordering

  • Confirm that an AED is actually installed at the location the sign will identify.
  • Check that the exact AED and AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR artwork suits the site message.
  • Choose the material and size for the mounting surface, exposure and normal approach.
  • Add separate directional signs if people cannot see the AED from route decision points.
  • Confirm the site's emergency plan, access, inspection and maintenance arrangements separately from the sign order.

This is general product information, not legal or engineering advice. A safety sign is one part of a workplace control system; confirm the site and jurisdictional requirements before ordering.
