For exposed coastal or high-wind sites, we recommend bringing them indoors overnight or using sandbag weights — they're not bolted to the ground.
3-sided bollards have a triangular cross-section (three print faces) — best for footpaths and edges where one side faces a wall. 4-sided bollards have a rectangular cross-section (270 × 175mm) with four print faces — best for centre-of-room placements like trade-show floors, lobbies and roundabout-style queue points where the bollard is approached from any direction.
Signflute bollards (both 3-sided and 4-sided) are rated for 6–18 months of outdoor use depending on UV exposure, wind and weather. Indoor use extends life to 2+ years. Cardboard bollards are short-term: 1–4 weeks indoor, not suitable for outdoor placement.

Bollard signs are not regulated under any specific AS standard for safety signage (unlike bolted ground bollards used for vehicle protection, which fall under AS/NZS 3845). For workplace safety messaging on bollards (yellow/black hazard wraps, hi-vis caution graphics), we follow AS 1319 colour and symbol conventions on request.
Signflute bollards are rated for outdoor use in moderate conditions — sheltered outdoor areas, building forecourts, and covered entry points. Avoid placement in fully exposed sites subject to sustained winds above 40 km/h or regular heavy rain without cover; the weighted base resists casual tipping but is not engineered for extreme weather. Cardboard bollards are indoor-only.
Signflute bollards are UV digitally printed in full colour at 720 dpi — sharp enough for logos, photos, and fine text down to 8pt. The polypropylene surface gives a semi-gloss finish with good ink adhesion and UV stability. No lamination is needed on signflute; the print cures directly into the surface.
