Warehouses are SafeWork's #1 inspection target after construction. Forklift incidents, racking collapses, falls from mezzanines and pedestrian-vehicle interactions account for the majority of serious injuries in distribution centres. Correct, current signage is the cheapest control measure on a hierarchy that gets very expensive very quickly.
This page is the practical sign pack we supply to Australian 3PL operators, distribution centres, manufacturing warehouses and bulk-storage facilities. Everything is AS 1319 compliant, with racking labels meeting AS 4084 (steel-storage-rack) marking requirements.
Forklift safety — pedestrian separation is the #1 control
- Forklift operating area / pedestrian beware signs at every aisle entry
- Pedestrian walkway floor markings (yellow tape or epoxy)
- Mirror at blind corners + "Sound Horn" sign
- Forklift speed limit (typically 5 km/h indoor, 10 km/h yard)

Aisle, bay & location identification
Standard warehouse addressing is Aisle-Bay-Level-Position (e.g. A-12-3-2 = Aisle A, Bay 12, Level 3, Position 2). We supply aisle signs (suspended or end-of-aisle), bay numbers (front-face mounted), and level/position labels (per beam or per pallet). Most are barcoded for WMS scanning.
