Warning Signs — Buyer's Guide (Yellow Triangle)
Warning signs are AS 1319's 'BE CAREFUL' category — black pictogram inside a yellow equilateral triangle with black border. They alert workers to hazards that require caution but are not in the immediate-danger category (which uses Danger — red+black+white).
Common warning pictograms include slip/trip hazards, forklift traffic, electric shock, hot surface, magnetic field, laser, radiation, low overhead, and pinch-point. Every Australian workplace has at least one warning sign; most have dozens.

Typical sizing conventions
Warning signs are usually the same sizes as mandatory/prohibition (225×300, 300×450, 450×600, 600×900mm) but the triangle occupies the full sign height. For outdoor/vehicle use, 600×900mm or 900×1200mm are common — forklift-traffic warnings at warehouse entries are typically 900mm wide.
