Product details
Use the exact CAUTION SLIPPERY FLOOR message
Choose this face when the assessed condition is accurately described as a slippery floor. The artwork does not identify the contaminant, duration or affected boundary, so add site-specific instructions or another sign when people need that information to act safely.
Choose a flat material and landscape size
Polypropylene is the default rigid material. Vinyl is supplied in packs of three for prepared smooth surfaces, 3 mm Corflute suits temporary placement, and Colorbond provides a stronger mechanically fixed face. Select 300 × 225 mm, 450 × 300 mm or 600 × 450 mm for the normal approach and visual conditions.
Position the warning before the slippery area
Mount the sign where the full message is visible before a person reaches the affected floor. Check all normal approaches, including entries around doors, fixtures and stored items, and repeat the warning where one fixed face cannot provide clear coverage.
Remove the cause and control access
The sign is a supporting warning, not the complete control. Clean contaminants promptly, isolate the area where necessary, provide safe access and address recurring flooring, drainage, maintenance, housekeeping, process or footwear factors identified by the risk assessment.
Check the sign format before ordering
This is a general flat Wet Floor warning face. It does not certify the floor, remove a contaminant or replace cleaning, maintenance, access control and other measures required by the workplace risk assessment. Confirm the exact wording, placement and supporting controls for the site.
- Safe Work Australia – Slips, trips and falls — Safe Work Australia identifies wet or oily surfaces, spills and poor floor condition among common causes of slips, trips and falls, and says businesses must eliminate or minimise those risks so far as is reasonably practicable. Read source (opens in a new tab)A warning sign can communicate the condition but does not remove the contaminant or correct the underlying floor and work-process risks.
- SafeWork NSW – Guide to preventing slips, trips and falls at work — SafeWork NSW guidance covers risk management for floor surfaces, contaminants, cleaning, access and workplace practices rather than treating warning signage as the sole control. Read source (opens in a new tab)Use the sign with the cleaning, isolation, repair and safe-access measures selected for the actual workplace.
- WorkSafe Queensland – Contaminants — WorkSafe Queensland says contaminants such as water, oil, food and cleaning residue can make floors slippery, and recommends preventing contamination, containing it and using an effective cleaning system. Read source (opens in a new tab)The fixed warning face does not identify or remove the contaminant; confirm the appropriate control and response for the site.
Before ordering
- Confirm that CAUTION SLIPPERY FLOOR is the exact message required for the assessed location.
- Identify every normal approach where the warning must be visible before someone reaches the affected floor.
- Choose polypropylene, pack-of-three vinyl, 3 mm Corflute or Colorbond for the mounting surface and exposure.
- Choose 300 × 225 mm, 450 × 300 mm or 600 × 450 mm for the approach distance and surrounding visual conditions.
- Confirm spill response, cleaning, access restriction, maintenance and other controls remain complete for the site.
This is general product information, not legal or engineering advice. A safety sign is one part of a workplace control system; confirm the site and jurisdictional requirements before ordering.

Frequently asked questions
What is printed on this Wet Floor sign?
The verified landscape artwork has a yellow field, black outline, black diagonal hazard stripes along the upper and lower edges, and the exact words CAUTION SLIPPERY FLOOR. It has no pictogram. This product is a flat safety sign for mounting at an identified location.
Where should a Wet Floor sign be installed?
Mount it where people can see the warning before reaching an area that may become slippery, such as an entry, wash-down area, amenities zone or cleaning point identified by the workplace assessment. Keep the complete face visible from the normal approach and do not allow it to be hidden by doors, stock or equipment.
Does the sign make a wet or slippery floor safe?
No. The sign warns people but does not remove water, oil, cleaning residue or another contaminant. Clean spills promptly, restrict access where needed, provide a safe alternative route and address the floor, drainage, footwear, housekeeping or work-process cause selected by the workplace risk assessment.
Is this sign only for freshly mopped floors?
No. Use it only where the exact CAUTION SLIPPERY FLOOR message is accurate for the location. A recurring leak, damaged surface, uneven level or another specific hazard may require repair, isolation and different or additional wording rather than relying on this general warning.
Which material, size and mounting option should I choose?
Polypropylene is the default rigid option. Self-adhesive vinyl is supplied in packs of three for clean smooth surfaces, 3 mm Corflute suits temporary placement, and Colorbond steel provides a stronger mechanically fixed face. The landscape sizes are 300 × 225 mm, 450 × 300 mm and 600 × 450 mm. Optional holes apply only to rigid materials.
