Class 400 reflective sheeting included

Class 400 reflective sheeting is included in the standard product and displayed price. Confirm the current AS/NZS 1906.1 class stated by the road authority, approved drawing or traffic-control plan. Requirements differ: Queensland specifies Class 400 for R1-1, while Main Roads WA mandates Class 900. Victoria maps legacy Class 1 to Class 400 and Class 1W to Class 1100. Class 900, Class 1100 and project-specified matched-component systems are available by quote.

Three-year outdoor warranty included

The finished sign and our workmanship are covered for three years when installed vertically in Australia and used for the intended application. Full exclusions and your Australian Consumer Law rights are detailed below.

Where an R1-1 STOP sign is used

Use it where an approved traffic-control plan requires drivers to stop before proceeding. Applications can include road intersections, private-road junctions, car-park exits, depots, campuses and industrial traffic routes. The responsible road authority, traffic engineer or site traffic plan should determine whether STOP control is warranted instead of GIVE WAY control.

Choosing the specified size and reflective class

Choose the specified 1.6 mm aluminium size: 600 × 600 mm R1-1A, 750 × 750 mm R1-1B or 900 × 900 mm R1-1C. The standard product and displayed price include Class 400 reflective sheeting. Match the current AS/NZS 1906.1 class to the approved drawing, traffic-control plan and jurisdictional requirement: Queensland specifies Class 400 for R1-1, while Main Roads WA requires Class 900. Victoria maps legacy Class 1 to Class 400 and legacy Class 1W to Class 1100. Request a higher grade where the project requires it; do not choose a grade from a generic viewing-distance estimate.

Mounting, stop-line coordination and approval

Position the complete sign face for a clear driver approach and coordinate it with the approved stop line, mounting height, lateral clearance and available sight distance. The stocked R1-1A and R1-1B faces include two standard centre-post mounting holes at no extra charge; posts and compatible brackets are sold separately. R1-1C is supplied undrilled and unbraced pending the approved support and mounting specification. Request a project-specific quote for non-standard hole patterns, supports or bracing. Public-road installation, replacement or relocation may require authorisation from the relevant road authority.

3M reflective face and in-house production

The standard Class 400 face uses 3M High Intensity Prismatic Series 3930 reflective sheeting on a 1.6 mm aluminium blank. We produce sign graphics in-house using a state-of-the-art Canon Colorado UVgel printing platform and precision-cut the aluminium octagon by fibre laser. Where a digitally printed regulated traffic-sign face is specified, the selected 3M digital sheeting, ink system and protective overlay must match the approved project specification; request a nominated matched-component system before ordering when this is a contract requirement.

Three-year outdoor warranty

Platinum Signs provides a three-year outdoor finished-sign and workmanship warranty for the standard product when installed vertically in Australia and used and maintained for its intended application. It covers premature adhesive failure, delamination, cracking or print failure attributable to our manufacture. Installation errors, impact, vandalism, abrasion, chemical exposure, pressure washing, substrate movement, non-vertical exposure and use outside the approved application are excluded. This voluntary warranty does not limit rights that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Check the sign format before ordering

This is an R1-1 regulatory road sign, not an AS 1319 workplace sign. The Australian traffic-sign framework uses the AS 1742 series for traffic-control devices and AS 1743 for road-sign specifications, with jurisdictional manuals and road-authority requirements also applying. A decision to install STOP control should be supported by the responsible traffic plan or authority. Public-road installation, replacement or relocation may require authorisation, and purchasing a sign does not itself authorise its use.
