Description
Use this R1-1 STOP sign where an approved traffic-control plan requires drivers to stop before proceeding. Typical applications include road intersections, private-road junctions, car-park exits, depots, campuses and industrial traffic routes. The decision to use STOP rather than GIVE WAY should come from the responsible road authority, traffic engineer or site traffic plan. Choose the specified 1.6 mm aluminium size: 600 × 600 mm R1-1A, 750 × 750 mm R1-1B or 900 × 900 mm R1-1C. Class 400 reflective sheeting is included in the standard product and displayed price. R1-1A and R1-1B include two standard centre-post mounting holes at no extra charge; posts and compatible brackets are sold separately. The larger R1-1C is supplied undrilled and unbraced because its mounting arrangement must match the approved project specification. If the specification requires Class 900, Class 1100, another reflective grade or a non-standard mounting system, request that separately before ordering. Install the sign where the complete face is visible on the driver approach and coordinate its position with the approved stop line, mounting height, lateral clearance and available sight distance. Check the post, brackets, footing and roadside-clearance requirements separately; the sign face alone is not a complete traffic-control installation. The STOP sign is an R1-1 regulatory road sign within the Australian traffic-sign framework. It is not an AS 1319 workplace sign. Public-road installation, replacement or relocation may require authorisation, and state or territory requirements can supplement the Australian Standards. This is an R1-1 regulatory road sign, not an AS 1319 workplace sign. Is this the Australian R1-1 STOP sign?
Yes. This product uses the familiar red octagonal R1-1 STOP sign design. It is a regulatory road sign, not an AS 1319 workplace safety sign. The final sign size, reflective sheeting, support and position must match the approved traffic-control plan and the requirements of the relevant road authority or jurisdiction.
Can I install this STOP sign on a public road?
Do not install or replace a prescribed traffic-control sign on a public road without confirming the required authority. In NSW, the Transport for NSW Traffic Signs Register identifies standard signs and explains that authorisation or delegation arrangements apply to prescribed traffic-control devices. Other jurisdictions have their own approval processes and supplements.
Which STOP sign size should I order?
The listed sizes are 600 × 600 mm, 750 × 750 mm and 900 × 900 mm. Do not select a size from road speed or location name alone. Use the size shown in the approved road-authority drawing, traffic-control plan or project specification, including any jurisdiction-specific requirement.
Should the STOP sign use reflective sheeting?
Yes. Class 400 reflective sheeting is included in the standard product and displayed price. The required class is not identical nationwide: Queensland specifies Class 400 for R1-1 while Main Roads WA requires Class 900. Legacy terms such as Class 1 and Class 1W map to different current AS/NZS 1906.1 classes. For a private road or car park, follow the approved site traffic plan and any authority or consent requirement. Contact us with the state and project specification when Class 900, Class 1100 or another grade is required.
How should the STOP sign be mounted?
Use a support, mounting height, lateral position and orientation specified for the traffic-control plan. Keep the complete sign face visible on the driver approach and coordinate its position with any stop line, sight-distance requirement and roadside-clearance requirement. Public-road installation and changes to prescribed traffic controls may require road-authority approval. The standard 600 mm R1-1A and 750 mm R1-1B STOP signs include two centre-post mounting holes at no extra charge. Posts and brackets are sold separately, and there is no drilling checkbox or surcharge. The 900 mm R1-1C stock face remains undrilled and unbraced because its support and mounting arrangement must match the approved project specification.
What outdoor warranty applies to this STOP sign?

It covers premature adhesive failure, delamination, cracking or print failure attributable to our manufacture. It does not cover incorrect installation, impact, vandalism, abrasion, chemical exposure, pressure washing, substrate movement, non-vertical exposure or use outside the approved application.
