Category 31L format and purpose
VSB12 designates the 300 × 100 mm legend-only plate as Category 31L. It provides the DO NOT OVERTAKE TURNING VEHICLE instruction to motorists behind the vehicle. The standard product has black lettering on a yellow Class 400 retroreflective face fixed to 1.6 mm aluminium.
Use it only on an eligible long vehicle
NHVR guidance says a vehicle or combination 7.5 metres or longer that must straddle lanes or turn from an adjacent lane at intersections must display the warning. A vehicle or combination under 7.5 metres must not display it. Check the current road rule for the vehicle's registration and operating jurisdiction before installation.
One component of the rear-marker layout
Category 31L is used with Category 33 or applicable strip plates; it is not a complete rear-marker system by itself. VSB12 places it on the left-hand side of the rear when a Category 34A plate is not used and specifies preferred and maximum mounting positions. Confirm the complete configuration before ordering individual components.
Reflective class, markings and fastening
The price includes Class 400 retroreflective sheeting. The production plate carries the required manufacturer or agent name, AS4001.1 reference and class marking.
