Product details
Where a No Entry sign is useful
Use the sign at doors, gates, corridors, plant and switch rooms, restricted zones, back-of-house areas and any access point people must not pass through on foot. Position it before the restricted point so the instruction can be acted on. For a specific hazard behind the door — confined space, high voltage, authorised-persons-only access — use the more specific sign the risk assessment calls for rather than relying on a general No Entry legend alone.
Choose the material for the installation
Polypropylene is the default rigid material for routine indoor and general site use. Self-adhesive vinyl is intended for a clean, smooth and dry surface. Corflute is the economical choice for temporary or shorter-term placement. Colorbond steel is the stronger rigid option for mechanically fixed installations. Select optional holes only on rigid materials; lamination and reflective film are available only for the compatible material selections shown in the configurator.
Select a readable size and position
Choose 225 × 300 mm for close-range doors and entries, 300 × 450 mm for a more prominent workplace approach, or 450 × 600 mm for larger sites and longer viewing distances. Mount the sign where the full symbol and legend remain visible with doors or gates open and closed, and repeat it at separate approaches where one face cannot provide clear coverage.
A sign supports access control; it does not enforce it
This prohibition sign makes the no-entry rule clear, but it does not physically stop entry. Where the risk requires it, combine the sign with barriers, gates, locks, access control, supervision and the other measures identified by your risk assessment. Confirm the appropriate sign, wording and supporting controls with your WHS adviser for the specific access point.
Check the sign format before ordering
This is a general workplace and site prohibition sign to the AS 1319 prohibition format. It supports a site access rule; it does not enforce entry control by itself and is not the regulatory road No Entry sign. Confirm the appropriate sign, wording, placement and supporting controls for the access point with your WHS adviser and the applicable requirements.
- AS 1319-1994 — Safety signs for the occupational environment — AS 1319 sets out the prohibition sign format used here: a red circular band with a diagonal slash over a black symbol on a white background, communicating that an action is not permitted.Standards Australia publication; the standard itself sets the sign format and application principles.
- Safe Work Australia — model WHS Regulations and Codes of Practice — Under the model WHS framework a PCBU must manage risks using the hierarchy of controls. Signage is one supporting control and does not remove the need for physical controls, access management, supervision and consultation. Before ordering
- Confirm that pedestrian entry through the access point is genuinely prohibited.
- Check whether a more specific sign (confined space, high voltage, authorised persons only) is required for the hazard behind the point.
- Choose polypropylene, vinyl, Corflute or Colorbond for the mounting surface and expected exposure.
- Choose a size that can be read on the normal approach before the restricted point.
- Combine the sign with the physical access controls the risk assessment requires.
This is general product information, not legal or engineering advice. A safety sign is one part of a workplace control system; confirm the site and jurisdictional requirements before ordering.

Frequently asked questions
What does this No Entry sign communicate?
It is a prohibition-format sign: a red circular band and diagonal slash over a black pedestrian symbol, with the NO ENTRY legend. It tells people that access on foot through that point is not permitted. It is a general workplace and site-access prohibition sign, not the red-and-white regulatory road sign used to prohibit vehicle entry to a carriageway.
Is this the road No Entry sign for vehicles?
No. The regulatory road No Entry sign is a separate aluminium, reflective traffic sign to the Australian traffic-sign framework. This product is the workplace and site pedestrian-access prohibition sign in direct-print materials. If you need the reflective road version for a carriageway, ask us for the traffic-sign product instead.
Which material and size should I choose?
Polypropylene is the default rigid option for routine indoor and general site use. Self-adhesive vinyl suits a clean, smooth surface; 5 mm Corflute suits temporary or shorter-term placement; and Colorbond steel is the stronger rigid face for mechanical fixing. Choose 225 × 300 mm for close-range doors, 300 × 450 mm for a prominent workplace approach, or 450 × 600 mm for larger sites and longer viewing distances.
Where should the No Entry sign be installed?
Self-adhesive vinyl needs a clean, smooth and dry surface. Rigid Colorbond steel, polypropylene and Corflute signs are normally mechanically fixed to a wall, door, gate or post. Position the sign so the access instruction can be read before someone crosses into the controlled area. Yes. Four-corner pre-drilled holes are an optional extra with a base surcharge of $3.00 inc GST per sign for the listed configurations, before any applicable volume discount. Select the option to update the configured total before adding to cart.
Does the sign by itself stop people entering?
No. A sign communicates the access rule but does not physically control entry. Where the risk requires it, combine the sign with barriers, gates, locks, access control, supervision and the other measures identified by your risk assessment. A sign supports the control; it does not replace it.
What volume discounts apply?
Automatic volume pricing is 5–9 signs: 8% off, 10–24 signs: 15% off, 25–49 signs: 24% off, 50–99 signs: 32% off, 100+ signs: 40% off. The configurator is the source of truth and updates the unit price as quantity changes.
