When reflective sheeting is required

The base 1.6 mm aluminium face is non-reflective. Class 2 reflective film is an optional legacy product grade at the displayed surcharge; it is not represented as Class 400 or equivalent to current R5-650 construction and does not make this older face a current authorised NSW public-road sign.

Product details

Match the exact at-all-times face

The verified artwork has the black CLEARWAY and AT ALL TIMES legends with a white C on a red patch. It has no arrows, time panel, tow-truck graphic or exceptions. Use it only as a documented private-site visual marker; do not add or infer missing direction or operating conditions.

Confirm the listed plate and artwork proportions

The catalogue lists a 225 × 450 mm, 1.6 mm aluminium plate, but the approved source face is near 3:4 and the plate is 1:2. Require a finished proof that preserves the artwork without stretching and confirms any margins. The base is non-reflective, with optional legacy Class 2 film; it is not represented as Class 400 or current R5-650 construction.

Check the current NSW design before road use

Current Transport for NSW guidance adopts the R5-650 clearway series and says R5-45 Clearway At All Times is not used in NSW. A public-road project must use the face, dimensions, reflective construction and authorisation in the current Traffic Signs Register and approved traffic documents, not this legacy-style listing by default.

Treat placement and enforcement separately

A sign purchase does not establish a clearway, define where it starts or ends, or authorise enforcement or towing. Confirm the approved sign position, controlled length, direction, support, mounting and road-authority decision as parts of the complete traffic arrangement.

Check the sign format before ordering

This exact older face is not represented as a current NSW public-road clearway sign. Transport for NSW adopts the R5-650 series and says R5-45 Clearway At All Times is not used in NSW. Confirm the current register design, authority, placement and complete traffic arrangement before regulated use.

  • Transport for NSW – R5-650n Clearway (with times)The current register entry identifies R5-650n as a restricted, non-standard clearway sign requiring written Transport for NSW authorisation and lists substantially different sizes and face content. Read source (opens in a new tab)Current NSW road-sign context only; it does not approve this product or its legacy artwork.
  • NSW Road Rules 2014 – Rule 176Rule 176 restricts stopping where an authorised clearway sign applies and describes the controlled length as ending at a different clearway sign, an end clearway sign or the end of the road. Read source (opens in a new tab)Road-rule effect does not establish that this product face, size or installation is authorised for a particular location.

Before ordering

  • Confirm that the exact CLEARWAY / C / AT ALL TIMES face, without arrows or a tow-truck symbol, is the documented requirement.
  • Approve a finished proof that preserves the near-3:4 artwork on the listed 1:2 plate without stretching.
  • Select Class 2 only for the private-site visibility need; it is not represented as Class 400 or current R5-650 construction.
  • Specify drilling, posts, brackets, support, mounting height, position and direction separately.
  • Use the current Traffic Signs Register design and written authority for any public-road installation or replacement.
