Product details

Where this sign is commonly used

Display it where people or vehicles normally approach private land: driveways, vehicle gates, pedestrian entries, fence lines, service yards, sheds and rural access points. Position the full message so it can be read before someone crosses the property boundary.

Choosing a material and size

Choose polypropylene, self-adhesive vinyl, 5 mm Corflute or Colorbond steel in 450 × 300 mm, 600 × 450 mm or 900 × 600 mm. Match the material to the mounting surface, outdoor exposure and fixing method, then choose a size for the approach distance and viewing position. Mounting holes apply to rigid materials; lamination and reflective films apply only to vinyl.

Mounting and boundary placement

Self-adhesive vinyl needs a clean, smooth and dry surface. Rigid signs are normally mechanically fixed to a fence, gate, wall or post. Keep the wording clear of vegetation, parked vehicles and gate hardware. Where a long perimeter has several likely approaches, repeat the notice rather than assuming one sign is visible from every direction.

Check the sign format before ordering

This product gives a clear private-property access notice. It does not by itself create an offence, guarantee prosecution or replace fencing, gates, security measures or a direction from the owner or occupier. NSW Police recommends Private Property and No Trespassing signs at entry points and near roads as one part of protecting property boundaries. Legal tests and enforcement differ by jurisdiction and circumstance, so use current local guidance where enforcement is the purpose.

  • NSW Police Force — Protect your property from trespassCrime-prevention guidance recommends maintaining fences and gates and posting Private Property and No Trespassing signs at entry points and near roads. Read source (opens in a new tab)NSW guidance; other jurisdictions may differ.
  • NSW legislation — Inclosed Lands Protection Act 1901Section 4 concerns entry onto inclosed lands without consent or remaining after a request to leave. The statutory tests depend on the land and circumstances; the Act does not make this sign a standalone guarantee of enforcement. Before ordering

  • Confirm that the Private Property No Trespassing wording matches the access instruction you intend to give.
  • Choose the material and fixing method for the mounting surface and expected exposure.
  • Position the sign at a normal approach so the complete message is readable before entry.
  • Check whether additional approaches need another sign and whether fences, gates or other security controls are also required.

This is general product information, not legal or engineering advice. A safety sign is one part of a workplace control system; confirm the site and jurisdictional requirements before ordering.
