Product details

Where this sign is commonly used

Use it at the normal point of approach to a workplace area where entry is restricted to authorised people. Common locations include plant rooms, server rooms, storerooms and back-of-house areas. Position the sign where staff, contractors and visitors can read the instruction before entering.

Choosing a material and size

Choose polypropylene, self-adhesive vinyl, 5 mm Corflute or Colorbond steel in 225 × 300 mm, 300 × 450 mm or 450 × 600 mm. Match the material to the mounting surface and exposure, then select the size for the approach distance, lighting and position. Mounting holes apply to rigid materials; lamination and reflective films apply only to vinyl.

Mounting and placement

Self-adhesive vinyl needs a clean, smooth and dry surface. Rigid signs are normally mechanically fixed to a wall, door, gate or post; select pre-drilled holes when the fixing method requires them. Keep the message unobstructed and place it before the access boundary so people can read the instruction before entering.

Check the sign format before ordering

This product has a blue Notice-format header. No independent certification claim is made for it, and it should not be assumed to replace a prohibition, mandatory, warning or danger sign. Use the category identified by the site risk assessment, then check the final wording, placement and supporting controls against guidance for the relevant state or territory.

  • WorkSafe ACT — Signage guidanceSign type must suit the intended application; AS 1319 does not prescribe one nominal sign size or material for every site. Read source (opens in a new tab)
  • Water Corporation — No Entry / Authorised Personnel OnlyA government design example uses a prohibition-format sign for a no-entry access restriction. Read source (opens in a new tab)Example only; the correct format remains site- and jurisdiction-specific.

Before ordering

  • Confirm that a blue Notice-format information sign is the correct category for the site.
  • Check that the wording matches the access rule and any supporting physical controls.
  • Choose the material for the mounting surface, exposure and intended fixing method.
  • Choose a size and position that can be read before a person enters the controlled area.

This is general product information, not legal or engineering advice. A safety sign is one part of a workplace control system; confirm the site and jurisdictional requirements before ordering.
