Product details

Confirm the exact yellow warning face

The artwork shows a black exclamation mark inside a warning triangle above the legend ELECTRIC FENCE on yellow. It does not show a lightning bolt, DANGER panel or keep-off instruction. Compare the visible face with the approved fence plan instead of treating different electrical-warning symbols and legends as interchangeable.

Choose the size and material for the exposure

Choose 225 × 300 mm, 300 × 450 mm or 450 × 600 mm from the site specification and normal approach conditions. Polypropylene is the default rigid option, vinyl suits a clean smooth substrate, Corflute suits temporary use and Colorbond suits a stronger fixed installation. Confirm outdoor exposure and attachment before ordering.

Plan every approach before setting quantity

Identify gates, paths, work zones and other directions from which people could reach the energised fence. Place each face where the complete symbol and legend can be read before contact, and repeat it where sight lines, vegetation, corners or access routes prevent one sign from warning every approach.

Check local wording and intervals before ordering

The sign does not install, isolate, test or maintain the fence, and sign rules are not uniform. Brisbane's local law, for example, specifies WARNING – ELECTRIC FENCE on both yellow sides within its scope. Confirm the required wording, construction, interval, energiser, earthing, isolation, inspections, vegetation control and access arrangements for the actual fence system.

Check the sign format before ordering

This is a generic yellow ELECTRIC FENCE warning face, not a certified installation sign. Wording, symbol, dimensions, double-sided construction, durability and spacing can differ by standard and local law. Brisbane, for example, requires the exact words WARNING – ELECTRIC FENCE on both yellow sides within its scope. Confirm the current project specification, electric-fence standard and local requirements; a sign does not replace safe fence design, isolation, inspection or maintenance.

  • NT WorkSafe – Working at height around live electrical installationsThe safety alert reports an electric-fence contact incident and identifies absent warning signs, missing site induction and inadequate risk assessment among the contributing factors. It points readers to AS/NZS 3014:2003 for electric fences. Read source (opens in a new tab)Incident guidance, not certification of this artwork, size, spacing or installation.
  • Brisbane City Council – Health, Safety and Amenity Local Law 2021, section 40Within the local law's scope, section 40 specifies durable weatherproof signs at stated access and interval locations, at least 100 × 200 mm, yellow on both sides and bearing the exact black words WARNING – ELECTRIC FENCE on both sides in letters at least 25 mm high. Read source (opens in a new tab)Brisbane local-law example only. This product is not represented as meeting those wording, double-sided construction, durability or placement requirements.
  • Safe Work Australia – Model Code of Practice: Managing electrical risks in the workplaceThe model Code places warning signs among administrative controls and says higher-order controls should be considered first. It also explains that signs and other administrative measures do not control an electrical hazard at the source. Read source (opens in a new tab)Check whether and how the model Code applies in the actual jurisdiction; it does not certify this product or fence installation.

Before ordering

  • Confirm that the yellow exclamation-mark artwork and exact ELECTRIC FENCE legend match the requirement, including any specified WARNING, TAKE CARE or lightning symbol.
  • Map gates, paths, work areas and every other approach that needs a warning before fence contact.
  • Choose the portrait size and material for the viewing conditions, exposure, mounting surface and any required double-sided construction.
  • Specify holes, ties, brackets, fasteners, mounting height and any anti-tamper attachment separately.
  • Confirm the complete fence installation, electrical controls, maintenance and local requirements with a competent adviser.

This is general product information, not legal or engineering advice. A safety sign is one part of a workplace control system; confirm the site and jurisdictional requirements before ordering.
