Product details

Mark an identified high-voltage hazard

Use the sign only where the site's electrical risk assessment and procedures identify HIGH VOLTAGE as the required warning message. Place it on or near the verified equipment, enclosure, room or approach and keep the full triangle, lightning symbol and legend visible before exposure.

Confirm the warning format is the right message

This exact yellow-and-black artwork has no DANGER header, KEEP OUT instruction or stated voltage. A competent person should confirm whether this warning-format sign, a danger-format sign, an access-restriction message or additional electrical labels are required. Do not choose between them by appearance alone.

Select the material and portrait size

Polypropylene is the default rigid option. Vinyl suits a prepared smooth surface, Corflute suits temporary placement, and Colorbond steel provides a stronger mechanically fixed face. Choose from 225 × 300 mm, 300 × 450 mm, 450 × 600 mm or 600 × 900 mm using the actual approach, lighting, obstructions and project specification.

Position the warning before exposure

Keep the face visible on the normal approach without covering rating plates, arc-flash labels, controls, locks, vents or instructions. The sign does not isolate, test, earth, guard or restrict access to electrical equipment, so retain every control selected by the electrical risk assessment and safe-work procedure.

Check the sign format before ordering

This is a printed warning-format sign only. It does not determine the correct safety-sign category, identify the voltage, isolate or de-energise equipment, test, earth, lock out, guard, restrict access or certify the installation. Confirm the site-specific message and controls with the responsible competent people and applicable regulator.

  • Standards Australia – AS 1319:1994 Safety signs for the occupational environmentAS 1319 specifies requirements for the design and use of safety signs intended for the occupational environment. Referencing the standard does not certify this product or determine that the warning format, wording, size or placement is correct for a particular electrical hazard. Read source (opens in a new tab)Standard reference only; confirm the applicable sign category, design, use and site requirements before ordering.
  • Safe Work Australia – Managing electrical risks in the workplaceThe model Code provides practical guidance on managing electrical risks for workplaces that control electrical equipment or carry out work on or near energised equipment. A printed warning sign is one communication measure and does not perform isolation or the other electrical risk controls. Read source (opens in a new tab)Check with the relevant regulator whether the model Code has legal effect in the jurisdiction and confirm any electricity-network or project-specific rules.

Before ordering

  • Confirm that the exact HIGH VOLTAGE warning format is the site-approved message.
  • Identify the equipment or area and every normal approach before choosing the sign position.
  • Check the real viewing distance, lighting and obstructions when selecting the portrait size and any compatible finish.
  • Match the material and fixing method to the surface and exposure without covering equipment labels, controls or ventilation.
  • Have the responsible competent person confirm isolation, access control, earthing, procedures, training and jurisdictional requirements separately.

This is general product information, not legal or engineering advice. A safety sign is one part of a workplace control system; confirm the site and jurisdictional requirements before ordering.
