Product details
Compact No Smoking sign in standard AS 1319 format, purpose-built for restricted wall space in lift lobbies, stairwells, and narrow corridors. Photoluminescent (glow-in-the-dark) material available for emergency egress compliance and after-hours visibility where ambient light is low. Sizes range from 180×250mm to 600×900mm in vinyl, polypropylene, Colorbond, or photoluminescent finishes.
Photoluminescent material charges from any light source and glows for up to 90 minutes after darkness falls—valuable for stairwell safety during power outages. Platinum Signs supplies photoluminescent stock for NCC 2022 Specification 25 compliance. Lamination and mounting holes included as extras.
Check the sign format before ordering
Final sign type, wording, size, placement and material depend on the site risk, project specification and applicable jurisdiction. Confirm the requirement with the relevant WHS adviser or regulator.
This is general product information, not legal or engineering advice. A safety sign is one part of a workplace control system; confirm the site and jurisdictional requirements before ordering.

Frequently asked questions
How long does photoluminescent material glow in darkness?
Up to 90 minutes after the light source is removed. It recharges continuously from ambient light—daylight, fluorescent, and LED all work. Particularly useful in stairwells and corridors during power outages.
Is photoluminescent material more expensive than standard vinyl?
The appropriate safety-sign category, wording, placement and supporting controls depend on the product purpose, site risk and applicable jurisdiction. Confirm the requirement with your WHS adviser or regulator; a sign alone does not discharge WHS duties.
What sizes are available?
Available sizes are 180 x 250mm (Compact), 225 x 300mm (Small), 300 x 450mm (Medium), 450 x 600mm (Large), 600 x 900mm (Extra Large). Viewing-distance notes are a practical selection aid, not a substitute for checking the approach distance, lighting, mounting position, wording and site risk assessment.
Can I combine photoluminescent with lamination?
Yes. Lamination protects the photoluminescent surface from wear and moisture, extending its useful life in humid or high-traffic areas.
Does this meet Australian workplace safety standards?
The appropriate safety-sign category, wording, placement and supporting controls depend on the product purpose, site risk and applicable jurisdiction. Confirm the requirement with your WHS adviser or regulator; a sign alone does not discharge WHS duties.
