Product details

Confirm the exact controlled-area legend

Order this fixed face only when the required message is BIOSECURITY AREA / NO ENTRY OR REMOVAL OF GOODS / AUTHORISED PERSONNEL ONLY / HEAVY PENALTIES APPLY / BIOSECURITY ACT 2015. It contains no site, class, contact or visitor-protocol fields, so compare every line with the controlling approval, direction or authority instruction.

Distinguish an approved area from a farm plan notice

Commonwealth approved-arrangement conditions and state farm biosecurity plans can require different information. This product is a fixed controlled-area face. It should not be substituted for a farm-gate or Biosecurity Management Plan notice that must identify the plan, contact point, entry conditions or another jurisdiction-specific statement.

Choose the material and landscape size

Polypropylene is the default rigid option. Vinyl suits a prepared smooth surface, Corflute suits temporary identification, and Colorbond steel provides a stronger mechanically fixed face. Choose 300 × 225 mm, 450 × 300 mm or 600 × 450 mm only after confirming any prescribed substrate, text height, overall dimensions, durability and fixing method for the controlled area.

Mark and maintain every controlled approach

Place the sign where the complete wording can be read before a person enters the area or removes goods. Check every normal approach, keep the face unobstructed and legible, replace damaged signs, and maintain the locks, authorisation, goods-control, records and operating procedures required by the site approval.

Check the sign format before ordering

This fixed Biosecurity Area face does not establish a controlled area, determine an offence or certify compliance. Confirm the applicable Commonwealth or state framework, responsible authority, approved-arrangement class, exact wording, material, size, placement and supporting controls before installation.

  • Federal Register of Legislation — Biosecurity Act 2015The Federal Register records the Commonwealth Biosecurity Act 2015 as in force. The Act and instruments or approvals made under it provide the legal framework; printing the Act title on a sign does not itself create powers, restrictions or penalties. Read source (opens in a new tab)Confirm the provisions, instruments and directions that apply to the specific place, goods and activity; this product page is not legal advice.
  • Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry — Approved Arrangement Class 2.6 requirementsThe department's empty-shipping-container-park conditions provide one concrete example: specified biosecurity areas must display a durable, securely affixed, prominent yellow-and-black sign with controlled-entry and goods-removal wording or words to similar effect. Read source (opens in a new tab)Those conditions are specific to Approved Arrangement Class 2.6. Other classes or directions may require different wording, size, material, fixing or placement, so this citation is not blanket product certification.
  • NSW Government — On-farm biosecurity planningNSW farm guidance describes property-entry signage that tells visitors a Biosecurity Management Plan is in place and identifies who to contact before entering designated areas. Read source (opens in a new tab)This fixed controlled-area face has no plan or contact field. Do not use it as an automatic substitute for a farm Biosecurity Management Plan notice.

Before ordering

  • Confirm the responsible authority, jurisdiction and approved-arrangement or site-control basis for the area.
  • Match every line of the fixed BIOSECURITY AREA artwork to the required wording before ordering.
  • Confirm whether the location instead needs a farm plan, contact details, visitor conditions or custom instructions.
  • Confirm the required material, text height, landscape size, durability, visibility and fixing method.
  • Identify every approach and the access, goods-control, recordkeeping and operating procedures that support the sign.

This is general product information, not legal or engineering advice. A safety sign is one part of a workplace control system; confirm the site and jurisdictional requirements before ordering.
