Signage, display and fit-out work where acrylic edge quality, engraving or fine internal detail affects the finished result.

Acrylic Letters & Logos

Flat letters and logo shapes in clear, coloured, opal or frosted acrylic, ready for mounting, bonding or further fabrication. Stroke width, small internal shapes and the visible edge are checked against the selected sheet thickness before the file is approved.

Lightbox Faces & Displays

Opal faces, colour acrylic panels and display parts cut to match fabricated lightboxes and illuminated sign assemblies. Finished dimensions, returns, fixing points and any printed or applied graphics should be considered together.

Engraved Plaques & Panels

CO₂ Laser Cutting

Why CO₂ suits acrylic and display work

A CO₂ laser produces an infrared beam that acrylic, timber, paper and many plastics absorb very efficiently. The energy lands only where the cut is needed, leaving a narrow kerf and a smooth edge — on cast acrylic, one that comes off the table flame-polished. Because nothing physical touches the sheet, cutters never blunt, panels never vibrate against a spinning bit, and the process throws far less dust than routing, which is why fine internal shapes and small lettering cut so cleanly.

There is also no tooling to make. Artwork and dimensions can change between runs without waiting on jigs or dies, and low setup overhead with efficient nesting keeps the total cost sensible across mixed parts and different batch sizes. Because the digital file drives the process, parts match within a batch and across a multi-site rollout. Our working area is 3000 × 1500mm, and the cut path is compensated for the beam width during nesting so finished parts match the drawing.

A production file needs to say more than where the outside profile sits. Cut paths, engraving, surface marking and any later bend or assembly references should be separated clearly, with closed vectors and the intended scale. That lets the artwork drive the correct operation without asking the operator to interpret an ambiguous line.

Material identity matters as much as nominal thickness. Acrylic type, colour, protective film, timber adhesive and surface coating can all change the cut or engraving result. Customer-supplied and unfamiliar sheets are reviewed before the full run, with sample testing recommended when the edge, colour or engraving contrast needs proving.

Material identification is required before a production method is approved

PVC and foam PVC are never laser cut. Light flexible sheet may suit the digital knife; rigid panels, marine plywood and machined edges move to the CNC router. Metals move to the fiber laser.

If a material is not listed, send its technical data sheet, thickness and intended finish. We would rather confirm the exact plastic, board, felt or rubber compound than assume two sheets sold under a similar description will respond to the laser in the same way.

Which cutting process should you use?

You do not need to choose the machine. Send the material, thickness and edge requirement and we will quote the process that suits the job. Edge finish, engraving, heat sensitivity and later fabrication can matter as much as the material name.

Quote preparation

What makes a CO₂ laser quote accurate?

Start with the exact material or product grade, colour, thickness, sheet size, finished quantity and required edge. Include a 1:1 vector drawing with closed paths, outlined text and clearly named layers for cutting, engraving and surface marking. Pricing follows the material, cut length, engraving area, nesting and quantity, so sending the whole family of parts together usually costs less than several separate small jobs.

Identify the visible face, protective film, critical dimensions and any parts that will later be bent, bonded, painted or assembled. Cut MDF and timber parts that need a sprayed colour can continue into our 2-pack spray painting service — flag paint-ready parts in the enquiry. If the job begins as a sketch or sample, send dimensions and photographs so drawing work and material testing can be allowed for before production.
