Description
No Surfing marks swim-only beach zones where surfcraft are prohibited to prevent collision hazards. The AS 2416.1 red annulus with surfer pictogram works in tandem with the black-and-white quartered SLSA flag (AS/NZS 2416.2) that designates the adjacent surfcraft area, creating clear spatial separation for swimmers and surfers. Available in polypropylene or marine-grade aluminium across four sizes (225×300 mm to 600×900 mm), this sign is installed at council beach-zone boundaries and patrol-tower reference points. Pre-drilled holes and lamination options speed installation and extend lifespan in high-UV coastal environments. Platinum Signs supplies councils, SLSA clubs, and beach operators Australia-wide. Trade accounts receive bulk discounts on multi-beach orders; we deliver within 5–7 working days and offer custom drilling at no extra cost.
Final sign type, wording, size, placement and material depend on the site risk, project specification and applicable jurisdiction. Confirm the requirement with the relevant WHS adviser or regulator.

Frequently asked
How does No Surfing work with the SLSA flag system?
The black-and-white quartered SLSA flag (AS/NZS 2416.2) marks the surfcraft zone; No Surfing signs are installed on the swim side to clearly separate swimmers from surfers.
What's the standard size for a beach-zone boundary?
The appropriate safety-sign category, wording, placement and supporting controls depend on the product purpose, site risk and applicable jurisdiction. Confirm the requirement with your WHS adviser or regulator; a sign alone does not discharge WHS duties.
Which material is better for beachfront installation?
Marine-grade aluminium resists salt spray and UV better than polypropylene and is preferred for permanent council installations. Polypropylene is cost-effective for seasonal or temporary markers.
Can you pre-drill holes for our mounting system?
Yes. Four-corner pre-drilled holes are an optional extra with a base surcharge of $3.00 inc GST per sign for the listed configurations, before any applicable volume discount. Select the option to update the configured total before adding to cart.
Do you supply SLSA clubs and councils in bulk?
Automatic volume pricing is 5–9 signs: 8% off, 10–24 signs: 15% off, 25–49 signs: 24% off, 50–99 signs: 32% off, 100+ signs: 40% off. The configurator is the source of truth and updates the unit price as quantity changes.
What's your Australia-wide delivery time?
Standard delivery is 5–7 working days. Express options are available for urgent council or club projects.
