An AS 2416.1 warning sign with yellow triangle and depth-figure pictogram (silhouette descending into water column). Essential for pool deep-end walls, quarry edges, canal banks, and council reservoir buffer strips. Paired with depth markers and CPR charts, this sign prevents depth-related swimmer incidents and supports commercial pool compliance. Available in polypropylene (indoor pools, protected sites) or marine-grade aluminium (outdoor exposure, splash zones). Three standard sizes suit deck coping and submerged wall installation. Install one on the deck coping directly above the deep-end waterline, and a second on the deep-end wall approximately 1 metre below coping level. This ensures visibility from both the deck and in-water positions.
Is this sign alone enough for pool compliance?
No. The deep-water picto must be paired with depth markers on the pool edge, a CPR chart, and a lifeguard-duty sign. Check your state's pool safety code for full requirements.
Can I use polypropylene on an outdoor pool?
Yes, polypropylene is UV-stabilised and suitable for outdoor pools. Aluminium is superior in high-chlorine or saltwater environments and lasts longer in intense sun.
