Description
Cliff Edge Approaching is the standard full-legend warning for headland walking tracks, coastal lookouts, and clifftop circuits where pedestrian safety is critical. The AS 2416.1 design combines a falling-figure pictogram with bold "CLIFF EDGE APPROACHING" text, ensuring immediate recognition in multi-language tourist zones from Bondi–Coogee to Great Ocean Road. Choose marine-grade aluminium for permanent council or national park installations; polypropylene for secondary track markers; or vinyl for kiosk and visitor-centre mounting. Four sizes (225×300 mm to 600×900 mm) fit trailhead gateways, mid-track junctions, and approach zones. Holes and lamination options streamline installation and extend durability in coastal weather. Platinum Signs supplies local councils, national parks, and tourism operators Australia-wide. Trade pricing applies to bulk orders; we also offer custom hole drilling and delivery within 5–7 working days.
Final sign type, wording, size, placement and material depend on the site risk, project specification and applicable jurisdiction. Confirm the requirement with the relevant WHS adviser or regulator.

Frequently asked
What's the council standard for spacing on a clifftop track?
The appropriate safety-sign category, wording, placement and supporting controls depend on the product purpose, site risk and applicable jurisdiction. Confirm the requirement with your WHS adviser or regulator; a sign alone does not discharge WHS duties.
Which material lasts longest in salt-spray environments?
Marine-grade aluminium is engineered for coastal salt exposure and maintains colour and legibility for 5+ years. Polypropylene suits inland or sheltered tracks; vinyl is ideal for indoor kiosk use.
Do you supply to national parks and local councils?
Yes — we're a preferred supplier to NSW National Parks and many councils. Trade accounts include bulk discounts, volume invoicing, and project support.
Can I mix sizes in one order?
Absolutely. Many track installations use 600×900 mm at entry, 450×600 mm along the path, and 300×450 mm at secondary points. We can mix and match with no surcharge.
Is lamination worth adding?
Yes, especially for aluminium in high-traffic areas. Lamination protects the printed surface from scratches, graffiti, and UV fading, extending sign life by 2+ years.
What's your delivery timeframe?
Standard delivery is 5–7 working days Australia-wide. Express options are available for urgent council or park projects.
