Description
Make the welding area recognisable before someone steps into it. This yellow-and-black sign shows a welder inside a warning triangle above WELDING IN PROGRESS. Use it on the approach to a workshop bay, fabrication cell or temporary maintenance area where welding is taking place. The message identifies the activity; any entry restriction or protective-equipment instruction needs to be communicated separately. Choose an individual 180 × 240 mm vinyl label for a smooth backing, or a rigid sign in 225 × 300 mm, 300 × 450 mm or 400 × 600 mm. Rigid choices are 1.6mm polypropylene, 0.6mm Colorbond steel and 3mm Corflute. Dimensions are width × height. Your selected option includes the pictured PS-WAR053 artwork, with no file upload or separate design proof needed for this standard sign. Select the material, size and quantity to see your price, then pay online to confirm the order. We deliver Australia-wide and show the delivery charge before payment. Most standard safety-sign orders dispatch the next business day after payment; courier transit is additional. For a large order or essential arrival date, contact us with the quantity and destination postcode before ordering.
Use this activity warning alongside the welding controls selected for the workplace. The sources below explain the role of warnings, screens and exposure controls; they do not certify this sign or a particular installation.

Available materials
| Material | Specification |
|---|---|
| Polypropylene (1.6mm) | A 1.6mm lightweight rigid face for a welding-bay approach, wall or sign holder. Available in the three rigid portrait sizes. Attach to a suitable support away from direct heat and spatter. Keep the warning clear when screens and doors move. |
| Colorbond Steel (0.6mm) | A 0.6mm coated steel panel for a mechanically fixed warning. Available in 225 × 300 mm, 300 × 450 mm and 400 × 600 mm. Allow for the panel weight and choose hardware for the support. The metal face does not make the printed sign a welding screen or fire-rated barrier. |
| Corflute (3mm) | A lightweight 3mm fluted panel for temporary welding warnings and changing work areas. Available in the three rigid sizes. Use a holder or supported fixing arrangement without crushing the flutes. Position outside direct sparks, spatter and heat. |
| Self-Adhesive Vinyl (Sticker) | An individual 180 × 240 mm adhesive warning for a smooth, flat backing such as a prepared panel. Apply to a clean, dry backing away from the welding operation. Use a backing panel where the surface is rough, uneven or unsuitable for adhesive. |

Frequently asked
What is printed on this Welding in Progress sign?
The yellow face carries a black warning triangle with a welder symbol and the three-line message WELDING IN PROGRESS. It is the pictured PS-WAR053 design. It does not contain an entry prohibition, permit number or instruction to wear a particular item of protection.
Can I use it for a temporary welding area?
Yes, where this is the warning message selected for the work. Put it at the approach before welding begins, keep it visible while the activity applies, and remove or cover it when that temporary condition ends. A supported Corflute panel is one available format for a changing work area.
Does the sign protect people from welding radiation or fumes?
The sign warns people that welding is occurring. Suitable welding screens, controlled entry, extraction and protective equipment are separate measures. Safe Work Australia and SafeWork NSW guidance explain those controls; use the warning alongside the arrangements selected for the task.
Which sizes and materials are available?
Choose 180 × 240 mm self-adhesive vinyl, or 225 × 300 mm, 300 × 450 mm and 400 × 600 mm in polypropylene, 0.6mm Colorbond steel or 3mm Corflute. All dimensions are width × height and each sign is sold individually. These standard options do not include reflective film, lamination or selectable mounting holes.
Where should I attach the sign?
Use a visible support on the approach to the work area, outside direct heat, sparks and spatter. Apply vinyl to a clean, dry, smooth backing; secure rigid panels with a suitable holder or fixing arrangement. Keep the face clear of curtains, doors and stored equipment. Ask us about a particular hole pattern or mounting hardware before ordering.
How do I purchase it and arrange delivery?
Select the material, size and quantity, then check out and pay online to confirm the standard order. The displayed artwork is included. Most standard safety-sign orders dispatch the next business day after payment. Delivery is available Australia-wide, with freight shown before payment and courier transit additional. Contact us first if arrival by a particular date is essential.
