Sharp Edges Handle With Care Sign

Description

The Sharp Edges Handle With Care sign alerts workers to cutting or laceration hazards using the AS 1319 yellow and black warning standard. Deploy near metal fabrication equipment, sheet handling areas, guillotines, stamping machines, or anywhere sharp materials are processed or stored—giving personnel a clear visual cue to adopt careful handling practices. Produced in corflute, polypropylene, Colorbond, and vinyl in four standard sizes, each sign features fade-resistant inks engineered for Australian industrial conditions. Add lamination for protection in wet or oily areas, reflective Class 1 or 2 borders for visibility in dim light, or mounting holes for immediate installation.

Final sign type, wording, size, placement and material depend on the site risk, project specification and applicable jurisdiction. Confirm the requirement with the relevant WHS adviser or regulator.

    Frequently asked

Where do I place a Sharp Edges warning sign?

Install at entry to metal fabrication areas, near sheet handling zones, alongside guillotines or presses, and on or near material storage racks. Position at eye level so workers notice it before handling sharp materials.

Is lamination worth the extra cost?

Yes, if your workplace has metal shavings, coolant spray, or wet conditions. Lamination protects the printed surface from scratches and contamination, keeping the sign legible longer.

What's the best material for a factory floor?

Polypropylene or Colorbond steel both handle factory wear well. Polypropylene is lighter and easier to mount; Colorbond is more durable for high-traffic or outdoor areas.

Can I order different sizes for different zones?

Absolutely. Many customers order a mix—smaller signs (225×300 mm) for individual machines and larger ones (450×600 mm or 600×900 mm) for general work areas. We'll combine them into one order.

How do I secure the sign to a wall or post?

Choose the holes option during checkout and we'll pre-drill mounting points. Use corrosion-resistant fasteners (bolts or screws) appropriate to your surface material.
