Risk of Radiation Sign

Description

The Risk of Radiation warning sign communicates AS 1319–compliant hazard alerts with the standard yellow and black triangle format, clearly marking areas where radiation exposure is a potential risk. Essential for medical facilities, research laboratories, nuclear handling areas, and industrial radiography sites where workers need to recognise the hazard before entering. Supplied in corflute, polypropylene, Colorbond, and vinyl in four standard sizes, each sign is produced with fade-resistant inks that perform reliably in outdoor and indoor Australian environments. Upgrade with reflective striping for visibility in poor light, lamination for chemical or moisture resistance, or mounting holes for immediate installation.

Final sign type, wording, size, placement and material depend on the site risk, project specification and applicable jurisdiction. Confirm the requirement with the relevant WHS adviser or regulator.

    Frequently asked

Where should I install a Risk of Radiation sign?

Install at entry points to radiation-controlled areas, around radioactive material storage, and near equipment that emits radiation. Position at eye level so workers see it before entering the hazard zone.

Does this sign meet workplace safety regulations?

Yes. It complies with AS 1319, the Australian standard for hazard warning labels and signs. The yellow and black triangle is the recognised format for warning-level (non-emergency) hazards.

What's the difference between corflute and polypropylene?

Corflute is lightweight, cost-effective, and suitable for indoor or temporary use. Polypropylene is more rigid and durable, better for longer-term indoor installations or light outdoor exposure.

Do you offer customisation or bespoke sizes?

We stock four standard sizes to suit most viewing distances. For custom dimensions or specific material combinations, contact our team with your requirements and we'll provide a quote.

How do I know which size to order?

Choose based on viewing distance: 225×300 mm for close work areas, 300×450 mm for corridors and workshops, 450×600 mm for larger rooms, and 600×900 mm for open spaces or outdoor sites.
