Description
Use this General Waste sign to identify a residual-waste bin, rubbish opening or waste-station disposal point. The portrait artwork combines a direct GENERAL WASTE heading with illustrated disposal cues so people can identify the intended stream before discarding an item. The illustrations do not define every item accepted by a particular collection service. Polypropylene is preselected as the practical rigid option for routine indoor and general site use. Self-adhesive vinyl suits a clean, smooth bin or wall and is supplied in packs of three; 3 mm Corflute suits temporary stations and events; and 0.6 mm Colorbond steel provides a stronger face for mechanical fixing. Choose 225 × 300 mm, 300 × 450 mm or 450 × 600 mm. Optional holes apply only to rigid materials, while lamination and reflective film apply only to compatible vinyl selections. Position the sign directly on or immediately above the matching bin, lid or opening. Keep it close enough that users cannot confuse it with recycling, organics or a dedicated material stream. Remove conflicting labels, keep the complete face unobstructed and repeat the sign where a station can be approached from more than one direction. This is a general waste-stream identification sign, not a universal accepted-items label. Collection rules vary between councils, buildings and waste contractors. Confirm accepted and excluded items with the actual service, and provide separate instructions for batteries, chemicals, e-waste, sharps, clinical waste and other problem waste.
This is a general waste-stream identification sign. It does not certify a bin, define a universal accepted-items list or authorise disposal of hazardous, clinical or problem waste. Confirm accepted and excluded items with the actual collection service.

Frequently asked
What does this General Waste sign identify?
It identifies a residual or general-waste bin, rubbish opening or disposal point and helps separate that stream from recycling and organics. The illustrations are visual cues, not a universal list of accepted items.
Where should the sign be installed?
Place it on or immediately above the matching bin, lid or opening where people can read the complete face before discarding an item. Keep it clearly separated from recycling, organics and other waste-stream labels.
Does every pictured item belong in general waste?
Not necessarily. Accepted and excluded items vary between councils, buildings and commercial collection services. Confirm the rules for the actual service before installing the sign.
Can batteries, chemicals or hazardous waste go in this bin?
This sign does not authorise that disposal. Batteries, e-waste, chemicals, oils, paint, sharps, clinical waste and other problem waste may require separate collection and instructions.
Which material and size should I choose?
Polypropylene is the default rigid option. Self-adhesive vinyl suits a clean, smooth bin or wall and is sold in packs of three. 3 mm Corflute suits temporary stations, while Colorbond steel provides a stronger mechanically fixed face. Choose 225 × 300 mm, 300 × 450 mm or 450 × 600 mm for the actual approach and mounting position.
What volume discounts apply?
Automatic volume pricing is 5–9 signs: 8% off, 10–24 signs: 15% off, 25–49 signs: 24% off, 50–99 signs: 32% off, 100+ signs: 40% off. The configurator is the source of truth and updates the unit price as quantity changes.
