The Extingusher Unit No. Powder Ab(e) to Be Used for Timber, Fabrics, Liquids Sign

Description

Powder A(B)E extinguishers are the workhorse of multi-purpose fire safety, covering Class A (timber and fabrics), Class B (flammable liquids), and Class E (electrical) fires. This AS 1319–compliant sign uses the red panel to mark the equipment clearly and quickly. Available in four sizes (225×300 mm through 600×900 mm) and four materials, it suits offices, warehouses, factories, and retail environments where a single extinguisher type must cover multiple hazards. Corflute is economical for temporary sites; polypropylene offers everyday durability; vinyl suits curved or flexible mounting; Colorbond provides non-combustible, weather-proof performance. All signs feature fade-resistant inks, with optional Class 1 and Class 2 reflective upgrades. Platinum Signs delivers nationwide and discounts bulk orders for trade and corporate accounts.

Final sign type, wording, size, placement and material depend on the site risk, project specification and applicable jurisdiction. Confirm the requirement with the relevant WHS adviser or regulator.

    Frequently asked

What makes A(B)E powder suitable for multiple fire classes?

A(B)E powder is a dry chemical blend that interrupts combustion and conducts electricity, allowing it to suppress ordinary fires (Class A), flammable liquids (Class B), and electrical equipment (Class E) safely.

Is one sign adequate if I have multiple A(B)E extinguishers?

No. AS 1319 requires a sign above or beside each extinguisher. If you have three A(B)E units, you need three signs to meet compliance.

How do I know if polypropylene or Colorbond is right for my space?

Use polypropylene indoors where cost matters and weather is not a factor. Choose Colorbond for outdoor areas, high-traffic zones, or where fire safety is critical and longevity is worth the extra investment.

Can the sign indicate extinguisher capacity or location code?

Yes. We can add custom text such as capacity (kg), location codes, or QR links to your safety procedures. Request a custom quote.

What's the fastest delivery option for urgent orders?

Standard delivery is 5–7 business days Australia-wide. For urgent needs, contact our team to discuss expedited options and availability.
