Danger — Live Wires Sign

Description

A direct warning against contact with exposed live electrical conductors during construction, renovation, and maintenance work. This danger sign is essential wherever live wires may be temporarily exposed or where de-energising is not possible. Meets AS 1319 electrical safety labelling requirements. Available in Colorbond and polypropylene in two sizes: 300×450 mm and 450×600 mm. Both materials are robust and cost-effective for temporary site use. Pre-drilled mounting holes enable quick installation on scaffolding, barriers, or equipment. Trade customers enjoy volume discounts and simplified ordering for ongoing site rotations. Australia-wide delivery within 5–7 business days. Contractors and maintenance teams can stock multiple signs for rapid deployment across projects.

Final sign type, wording, size, placement and material depend on the site risk, project specification and applicable jurisdiction. Confirm the requirement with the relevant WHS adviser or regulator.

Frequently asked

Should this sign be used with a physical barrier or guard?

The sign is a warning, not a substitute for physical protection. Use it alongside barriers, guards, or temporary fencing to prevent accidental contact with live conductors.

Which material is better for a temporary construction site?

Polypropylene is lightweight and cost-effective for short-term use; Colorbond is more durable if the sign will be moved between multiple sites or left in place for weeks.

Can I use this sign indoors and outdoors?

Yes. Both materials handle indoor and outdoor conditions. Polypropylene is fine for covered or short-term outdoor exposure; Colorbond is preferred for prolonged outdoor use.

What if live wires are de-energised—do I still need the sign?

Remove or cover the sign once wires are confirmed de-energised and safe. Leaving it in place creates confusion and may lead to complacency among site workers.

Do you offer bulk pricing for contractors with multiple active sites?

Automatic volume pricing is 5–9 signs: 8% off, 10–24 signs: 15% off, 25–49 signs: 24% off, 50–99 signs: 32% off, 100+ signs: 40% off. The configurator is the source of truth and updates the unit price as quantity changes.
