Danger — 240 Volts Sign

Description

Protect workers and the public from 240-volt electrical hazards with this AS 1319 compliant danger sign. The red header and lightning bolt pictogram are instantly recognisable and meet Australian safety standards for mains-voltage equipment labelling. Required on switchboards, distribution boards, power outlets in industrial settings, and any electrical enclosure where contact is possible. Supplied in Colorbond, polypropylene, aluminium, or vinyl in four sizes from 225×300 mm to 450×600 mm. Choose reflective Class 1 or Class 2 for improved visibility in low light. Mounting holes included. Trade accounts receive bulk discounts and priority dispatch.

Final sign type, wording, size, placement and material depend on the site risk, project specification and applicable jurisdiction. Confirm the requirement with the relevant WHS adviser or regulator.

MaterialSpecification
Colorbond Steel (0.6mm)Rigid coated sheet steel suited to demanding indoor and outdoor installations. Print life depends on finish, exposure, edges and mounting. Indicative service life: Long-term substrate; print and site conditions apply. Typical use: Permanent installations, harsh environments.
Polypropylene (1.6mm)Rigid plastic sheet suited to indoor and sheltered or general outdoor applications, subject to the print finish and site exposure. Indicative service life: Medium-term use; site conditions apply. Typical use: Warehouses, factories, permanent indoor/outdoor.
Aluminium (1.6mm)Rigid aluminium sheet suited to long-term signage where corrosion resistance and dimensional stability matter. Indicative service life: Long-term substrate; print and site conditions apply. Typical use: Permanent outdoor installations and high-durability sites.
Self-Adhesive Vinyl (Sticker)Peel-and-stick vinyl for smooth surfaces. Walls, doors, machinery, and equipment labelling. Indicative service life: Short- to medium-term use; surface and exposure affect service life. Typical use: Indoor walls, equipment labels, smooth surfaces.

Frequently asked

Is a 240V danger sign a legal requirement?

Yes. Australian WHS regulations and AS 3000 Wiring Rules require electrical equipment above 50V AC to be labelled with voltage identification. AS 1319 specifies the danger sign format for 240V installations.

Where exactly should I install this sign?

Mount on or immediately adjacent to switchboards, distribution boards, industrial power outlets, and any electrical enclosure accessible to workers or the public. Position at eye level for maximum visibility.

What's the difference between Class 1 and Class 2 reflective?

Reflective grades provide different visibility performance. Choose the grade required by the project specification and site conditions, and confirm any road, traffic or high-risk requirement with the relevant authority before ordering.

Which material is best for a humid or corrosive environment?

Colorbond steel resists rust and corrosion in damp conditions. Vinyl is lightweight and chemical-resistant but less durable long-term. Polypropylene offers good corrosion resistance at a lower cost.

Do you offer bulk pricing for multiple sites?

Automatic volume pricing is 5–9 signs: 8% off, 10–24 signs: 15% off, 25–49 signs: 24% off, 50–99 signs: 32% off, 100+ signs: 40% off. The configurator is the source of truth and updates the unit price as quantity changes.
